HEMPACK by CO&IN has been selected for Avant-Garde 2023. Come and discover it at Packaging Première

At Avant-Garde 2023 CO&IN presents HEMPACK, a self-assembling box made of 100 per cent biodegradable paper.

CO&IN presents a project for a self-assembling box made of 100 per cent biodegradable paper, produced from hemp cellulose (an annual plant that requires ¼ as much soil as trees to produce cellulose), using the natural glue present in the fibre itself (no added adhesives), with only rainwater added, no chemicals in the mix, hand processing in vats and air drying by cold pressing, and production located in Italy.

The paper in CO&IN Tailored Packaging is die-cut, cut, folded and ennobled using techniques such as embossing, debossing, laser cut or engraving, without any addition of material, making the product totally biodegradable and using advanced, energy-saving machines powered by photovoltaic panels (Co2 reduction). The design allows a reduction in weight and volume of the packaging (light structure with open corners), the use of mono-material (maximum recyclability) and enhances the uniqueness of the product, which is 'sewn' ad hoc on a specific project.

CO&IN Tailored Packaging is committed to ensuring that serial production encounters and enhances the enormous craftsmanship heritage of our country, producing articles that have a life-cycle with the lowest possible impact (in production, transport, recycling). We believe in inclusive design in all fields, in a perfect balance between craftsmanship and seriality, expressed in the constant dialogue between design, know-how and tradition.
